This year, the PTSA is implementing a donation program to provide relief to our school. Due to much publicized budget cuts, our students and teachers have suffered a monumental decline in funds allocated to MKHS. This will continue to affect the high level of public education we have learned to expect from our school. WE NEED YOUR HELP!! 
Your donations, together with our fundraising proceeds, will go directly to support need-based purchases approved by the Principal and our PTSA.  All donations are 100% tax-deductible and are welcome from alumni, community businesses, grandparents, etc.

While the PTSA is not specifically a fundraising organization, we must continue to raise money to support and provide programs for campus improvements, technology enhancement, communication, educational initiatives, senior scholarships, and appreciation of our well-deserving staff and students.

Your direct donations, along with additional PTSA fundraising, will be used to provide services and equipment to our school community. This includes the ability to fulfill teacher and departmental requests for our school, students and staff.
In 2010-2011, the purchases and funded services included:

$24,000 Senior Scholarships towards the purchase of laptops for college.
$10,000 Teacher grants.
$3,700 Staff appreciation and recognition events.
$3,500 Student recognition, reading celebration, college fair and graduation support.
$2,000 Professional development.

This year, the Special Projects and Grants Committee will request proposals from teachers and staff. Much publicized budget cuts have affected today's public school education. The more donations we receive, the more PTSA can help satisfy the needs of our school. Your generous contribution is greatly appreciated and we thank you for your support!
